Director of the Traditional BSN (TBSN) Program and Full time, Tenure-track faculty position Mount Saint Mary’s University-Los Angeles invites applications for the Director of the Traditional BSN (TBSN) Program. This administrative position is also a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor. The Director of the Traditional BSN (TBSN) Program provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and student-centered guidance under the direction of the Dean of Nursing. This role oversees program operations, admissions, curriculum implementation, and faculty support while fostering an exceptional advisement and student experience. The Director serves as a key liaison across university departments and external partners and maintains strong working relationships to support student success and program excellence. Three assistant directors support the director in administering the program. As part of a university founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, the TBSN Director is expected to embody and advance the CSJ charism — service to the dear neighbor without distinction, commitment to justice, compassion, and inclusive community. This includes fostering a learning environment grounded in dignity, equity, and holistic care for students, faculty, and the communities we serve. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manages TBSN’s program admissions processes. Provides leadership related to program curriculum and evaluation. Provides faculty support and guidance related to student issues. Provides overarching student support related to academics, psychological, social and emotional needs and safety. Notifies Dean and contacts university departments as appropriate. Supervises and assumes responsibility for program operations Ongoing advisement, monitoring, and advocacy of students within the nursing department, university and community. Represents the BSN Program through engagement with professional organizations. Maintains faculty responsibility by serving on nursing and University committee(s) Teaches approximately 6 credit hours per year. Participates in academic advisement activities. Rank and Salary This is a tenure-track Assistant, Associate Professor or Professor position, depending on qualifications. Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and scholarly accomplishments. Tenure expectations follow University policy and include excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. Position Annual Hiring Salary Range: $115,000 – $135,000 (dependent on rank and qualifications) Hiring salary can be above the posted pay range if candidate’s qualifications are determined to be above the minimum requirements of the position description. Job Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong knowledge of BSN curriculum, academic advisement, admissions processes, program evaluation, BRN and accreditation regulations, and budget management. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and develop effective plans. Strong communication skills with students, faculty, staff, and external partners. Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and organizations. Skilled in data collection, analysis, and interpretation. Demonstrated leadership, sound judgment, and decision-making abilities. Ability to deliver presentations to large groups. Education: (established by the California Board of Registered Nursing, 1425a) Master’s or higher degree from an accredited college or university, which includes course work in nursing, education, or administration. Doctoral degree preferred. Experience: A minimum of one year’s experience in an administrative position with validated performance of administrative responsibilities (described in BRN regulation 1420h) A minimum of two years of experience teaching in a pre-licensure registered (RN) nursing program At least one year of continuous experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care and/or equivalent experience as determined by the Board Licenses and Certifications: Eligible for RN license in the state of California Other Requirements: Background check required by policy.
