The Role
This position is responsible for successful product design of sealing solutions using knowledge of polymer, metallic and elastomer materials and applying general engineering principles.
- A strong link between the Sales, Operations, and Technical Team you belong to, bringing together simulation, materials and testing experts to solve the most advanced technical issues related to critical applications.
- Ability to solve problems and work with many diverse markets with each of their own challenges.
- Ability to work under the pressures of time constraints in a fast paced work environment.
- Sense of urgency in not only completing projects but being proactive in initiating creative thought to improve processes.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree, Material Science or Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Polymer Science or equivalent (required)
- Master’s degree Material Science or Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Polymer Science or equivalent (preferred)
- 5+ years experience working in specialized Industries/Markets. Working in Manufacturing environment as well as being able to communicate with customers on technical issues (required)
- Understand the customer application and build application expertise
- Proficient in Solidworks and/or AutoCad
- Design and Develop sealing components
- Understand engineering fundamentals and apply them to design process
- Ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings and GD&T
- Use project management tools to lead assigned activities and projects.

Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position which is $81,500 to $126,500 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is up to 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $89,650 to $139,150. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
