Principal Responsibilities: Reviews images for quality assurance. Retrieves studies from PACS for review Assures CSMCF Sonographers are following safe practices Communicates performance expectations to CSMCF Sonographers Maintains Competency checklists and evaluate CSMCF Sonographer?s competency level annually Orients and coaches staff Sonographers and temp Sonographers on sonography equipment and systems as needed Assists with PACS quality assurance Assists Imaging Team with process improvement initiatives Uses appropriate techniques with ultrasound equipment to supply diagnostic studies based upon physician request Performs a variety of technical procedures to support physician?s diagnosis Responsible for providing high quality imaging Knowledgeable about advanced imaging improvements on ultrasound system features for purposes of capturing data Appropriately acquires echocardiographic measurements per protocol, create digital preliminary reports for the interpreting physician, and verbally communicate preliminary findings to the interpreting physician Ensures IAC Standards and Guidelines are followed Monitors the status on equipment repairs and preventative maintenance, gathers data on equipment malfunction and associated down time. Assures compliance with department policies, procedures and regulations Qualifications Education Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) is required Work Experience: 5 years? experience in echo cardiovascular setting preferred Licenses and Certifications: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) is required (upon hire) Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) preferred BLS certification from the American Heart Association and/or the American Red Cross required
