Adjunct Faculty, PsyD Program The PsyD Clinical Psychology program at Mount Saint Mary’s University (Los Angeles) invites applicants with a doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Psychology for teaching as an adjunct in our APA Accredited PsyD in Clinical Psychology program. The PsyD in Clinical Health Psychology is designed to prepare graduates to be practicing Psychologists in the public and private sectors. There are two emphases within the PsyD program: Latinx Mental Health and Diverse Populations. Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities include teaching doctoral-level courses in clinical psychology, specifically courses that address both the applied and scientific foundations of psychology. Facilitate Classroom. Our institution uses Canvas for homework submission, attendance, files. Manage the online grading system and utilize current technology in the performance of job duties Utilize a variety of teaching tools and teaching modalities to guide students through their studies using active collaboration and active learning techniques Course and syllabus preparation Assessment and evaluation of learners Holding office hours and meeting with students Abide by all relevant university and/or department procedures and policies Skills: Proficient computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. The ability to work independently and be self-motivated. High level of accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to problem solve. The ability to explain complex requirements in clear and concise terms. The ability to be flexible with workflow to meet the needs of the department and students and to manage multiple tasks per required deadlines. The drive to encourage, direct, hold accountable and guide candidates toward task completion. Must demonstrate the ability to work as an effective team member. Culturally humble and ability to communicate and interact effectively with diverse people. Ability to exercise discretion and tact in all interpersonal interactions, and to maintain confidentiality. Collaboration and partnering with other university stakeholders to support candidate success. Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments. Position salary: $2,283.15 per unit Job Requirements: Applicants must have a doctoral degree in Clinical, Counseling or closely related field in psychology, have attended an APA Accredited doctoral program, and be eligible for licensure as a Psychologist in the State of California. Applicants will have experience teaching in a clinical training program or undergraduate courses related to psychology. This candidate will demonstrate successful doctoral teaching.
