The UCLA Tarjan Center at the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seeking a ‘insert job title’ to support marketing, communications, and dissemination efforts that advance initiatives focused on improving outcomes for autistic adults and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Working closely with the Director of Outreach and Dissemination, you will develop engaging accessible content across multiple platforms, manage website and social media communications, support stakeholder engagement and event promotion, and help share research, training, and educational resources with diverse audiences. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing communications, marketing, branding, and outreach strategies.
  • Creating accessible written, visual, and multimedia content, including newsletters, articles, blogs, fact sheets, reports, and promotional materials.
  • Managing website updates, social media platforms, digital assets, and analytics.
  • Supporting communications for conferences, webinars, trainings, and community engagement activities.
  • Designing accessible graphics, videos, and infographics while ensuring compliance with accessibility standards.
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Salary range: $37.60/hr – $78.35/hrQualifications

Required:Bachelors degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Graphic Design, Digital Media or related field; or combination of education and experienceMinimum of 3 years of professional experience in communications, marketing, public relations, digital media, content creation, graphic design, or related fieldDemonstrated experience developing and implementing communication, marketing, branding, and outreach strategies across multiple platformsStrong writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, accessible, audience-focused content for diverse stakeholdersExperience creating and managing digital content including websites, social media platforms, newsletters, and other communication channelsProficiency with graphic design and content creation tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and multimedia editing softwareKnowledge of website content management systems, digital analytics, and best practices for measuring communication effectivenessKnowledge of accessibility standards and disability-inclusive communication practices for digital and print materialsDemonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
PreferredMaster’s degree in related fieldExperience supporting communications, outreach, or dissemination efforts for research, healthcare, higher education, disability-serving organizations, or non-profit programsExperience with stakeholder engagement, event promotion, media relations, and community outreach initiatives
