Technology Support Specialist I Classificaiton: Technology Support Specialist I Department: The Division of Information Technology (IT) strives to be a strategic, innovative, and best-in-class IT organization that provides a leading-edge technology environment for students, faculty, and staff to advance the University’s mission, vision, and goals. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our IT-Student Technology Services team as the Technology Support Specialist I. Sub-Division: Salary Range: $4,595 – $4,974 per month Appointment Type: Time Base: Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. This is a temporary position to end on or before June 30, 2027, with a possibility of renewal on an annual basis if funds and/or program needs exist. About CSUF: Job Summary: Essential Qualifications: Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Relevant education and/or experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Under direct supervision, performs entry-level professional technology support duties to ensure efficient use and access of technology and information systems. Provides customer service and support to campus users and troubleshoots problems. Recognizes and analyzes trends. Performs basic technology updates and tasks following defined procedures. Project work is reviewed for understanding of professional concepts and compliance with policies and procedures. General knowledge of information technology systems, applications, and networks. General knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting and related technology support practices. Organizational and time management skills to plan, organize, and prioritize work. Attention to detail and accuracy. Analytical skills to collect and analyze information and troubleshoot problems. Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills to work with students, faculty, and staff to obtain pertinent information, communicate technical information to diverse audiences, and document issues and resolutions. Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information. Ability to work independently and as part of a team as well as build relationships with diverse stakeholders. Computer skills to appropriately respond to IT complaints and issues. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
