We are looking for a Warehouse Operations Manager who can lead teams, streamline processes, and ensure high performance in safety, accuracy, and service. What you will be doing

You will oversee all aspects of warehouse and continuous improvement activities, leading a team of foremen and hourly associates across all shifts. This role ensures that warehouse operations run smoothly and efficiently, while upholding standards in safety, quality, service, and labor relations.

Main responsibilities

  • Manage warehouse shipping operations including order selection for retail stores and customers across multiple divisions.
  • Lead, coach, and develop exempt and non-exempt associates to achieve operational, safety, and quality goals.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with retail divisions and LFI customers.
  • Promote safety by performing observations, providing feedback, and eliminating exposures.
  • Analyze and manage labor needs to meet productivity and budget goals.
  • Oversee first 90 days of onboarding and coaching for all new warehouse employees.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional departments including production, maintenance, quality, and transportation.
  • Hold team members accountable to shipping standards and warehouse SOPs.
  • Manage union labor relations, including grievance handling and collaboration with union stewards.
  • Drive operational improvements using World Class / Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Create and support WIG (Wildly Important Goals) teams and drive impact goal initiatives.
  • Perform audits for product rotation, slotting, and space utilization.
  • Support food safety programs and participate in internal/external inspections.
  • Lead or support continuous improvement projects and vendor coordination.
  • Participate in daily performance meetings (VPMs) and food/physical safety committees.
  • Provide leadership updates and participate in strategic planning efforts.

What we are searching for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Operations, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in warehouse or manufacturing operations, preferably in food production or distribution.
  • Green Belt or higher Six Sigma certification strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse and manufacturing safety, FSMA, HACCP, GMPs, and SOP compliance.
  • Experience in labor management, union interactions, and team leadership.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; M3 system knowledge preferred.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Strong understanding of material handling equipment, product flow, and cost management.
  • Comfortable working in refrigerated or temperature-variable environments (35-70°F).
  • Ability to walk the warehouse floor and remain visible to teams while managing daily operations.

The LA Milk Manufacturing Plant has an opening for a Plant Warehouse Manager. This position is located in Commerce, CA. The salary range is $92,000 to $130,000 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.
