Description
Arnold & Porter is seeking applications for the 2027 U.S. Summer Associate Program from current law students who will have completed two years of law school by the summer of 2027 and graduate from law school in Winter 2027 or Spring 2028. This position is available in our Boston, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Seattle, and Washington, DC offices.
Arnold & Porter’s summer program is designed to provide summer associates with exposure to the substantive skills they will use in practice, the firm’s core values, and the meaningful work we do for our commercial and pro bono clients. We also strive to provide summer associates ample opportunities to get to know the firm’s attorneys, practices, clients, and culture, through work assignments, our mentoring program, interactive training programs and practice group presentations, and social events. Arnold & Porter is renowned for its commitment to excellence, multidisciplinary approach, deep industry knowledge, diverse and inclusive culture, and dedication to pro bono matters and public service initiatives. Our summer program will immerse you in the values that shape our firm and drive the highest level of legal excellence in service to our clients and commitment to social justice. These values lead us to seek intellectually curious, driven, collegial, and collaborative candidates with outstanding academic credentials and interpersonal skills. We also consider candidates’ professionally related experience and activities, personal references, and participation in law review, journals, and clinical legal work.
Arnold & Porter does not hire summer associates directly into practice groups. However, we have created application tracks to help us recruit summer associates with diverse interests that align with our practices. During the summer program, summer associates are encouraged to work across as many practice groups as possible. Summer associates who receive a full-time offer to join the firm as associates will be asked to rank their practice group preferences approximately six months prior to their start date.
