Position Summary:
American Equipment Holdings is seeking a talented and motivated Accountant with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience to join our team.
As an Accountant at American Equipment Holdings, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the company’s financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing customer statements and invoicing
- Payment Tracking: Monitor and track payments, follow up on overdue invoices, and resolve billing discrepancies
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Bills daily service calls; process service calls and project invoicing to ensure accurate costing, proper markups and scope of work and adherence to contractual requirements.
- Create necessary support documentation such as a schedule of values and AIA Forms
- Makes sure that lien releases have been requested in a timely manner and attached to the invoice prior to submitting the invoice
- Request lien releases from Vendors, Subcontractors, Equipment Rentals
- Assess billing documents and other data for accuracy and completeness, tracking down missing or correct data when necessary.
- Prepare monthly receivables statements
- Compile, organize, post, and prepare invoices, credit and debit memos
- Review receivables paperwork and verify accuracy
- Scanning Documents to Share Drive
- Support the Accounting Department
- Additional Duties may be assigned
- Excellent verbal, written, and social communication skills
- Mail, email, and process on-line billings invoices
Qualifications:
- 3 years in background in the construction billing industry is preferred.
- Experience with AIA Billing Forms
- 3 years in overall construction administration is a must.
- Must be proficient with MS Excel.
- Must be able to multi-task, be extremely organized, and have excellent communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Experience with lien releases and preliminary notices is a plus.
- Demonstrates highly efficient time management skills.

This is a full-time onsite position in an office environment; 8-hour days, Monday through Friday. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear, use hands to finger, grasp, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms, walk; lift push or pull objects up to 20 pounds. Hand-eye coordination necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
