Accounting Assistant – Payroll (Contract through end of March)
Location: Hazlet, NJ (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm
Pay Rate: $21.81–$27.86/hr
Summary:
The Accounting Assistant will support high-volume payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing for weekly, biweekly, semimonthly, and monthly payroll cycles using ADP Workforce Now. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive under strict deadlines. The ideal candidate brings 3+ years of payroll experience, strong Microsoft Office skills, and the ability to work with employees and management at all levels.
Key Qualifications:
3 years of payroll processing experience with ADP WFN
Knowledge of E-Time (preferred)
Strong understanding of payroll principles
High attention to detail, confidentiality, and accuracy
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Key Responsibilities:
Process multi-cycle payrolls (weekly, biweekly, semimonthly, monthly) for assigned employees
Maintain and process time/attendance records, deductions, compensation changes, overtime, and shift changes
Conduct pre- and post-processing payroll reconciliations
Prepare payroll reports for month-end
Respond to employee payroll inquiries via ticketing system
Support periodic and year-end reporting requirements
Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned
