Accounting Clerk (Credit & Collection or A/R)
Work schedule: M-F 7 am – 4 pm
Looking for strong Excel. Microsoft AX Dynamic is plus.
Summary: Handles the billing and collections for a company or organization. Credit and collections agents
ensure that their company receives accurate payment in a timely fashion. They work in a wide range of industries,
and along with collections, often perform general office duties such as faxing documents, typing invoices or
answering phones
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include, but not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Collects information on credit applicants, either by telephone, email, fax and/or form letter
- Compiles information into reports
- Filing customer resale exemption certificates
- Maintains records on continuing credit standing
- Performs preliminary collection work on overdue accounts
- Prepare notes on when customers plan to make a payment after getting in touch with the customer
- Verify account information and take credit card payments over the phone in the event that a customer is
prepared to pay
- Maintain records on incomplete, updated, and delinquent accounts and notifies customers of delinquencies
- Perform basic bank reconciliations and verifies cash receipt applications
- Creates Performance and/or prepayment invoices for sales of generator units
- Enter journal entries as necessary
- Month-end non-production work orders
- Complete some GL reconciliations as necessary
- Other special requests and projects
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent. One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer Skills: May be required to learn specialized database to access company billing information.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel and Microsoft AX Dynamic.
- Mathematical Skills /Qualifications: strong math skills, a solid understanding of finances and how to use computer software used to assist with collections and use of 10-keys.
