GENERAL PURPOSE
Under moderate supervision, performs daily accounting and financial functions, including the handling of operational funds. Interacts regularly with internal and external business partners to ensure financial information related to the insurance agency is accurate and that quality control standards are met.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties are listed based on the estimated percentage of time. Other responsibilities may be assigned.
Responsibilities
Reviews, codes, and enters insurance carrier commission revenue and premium payment adjustments for clients and client employees into applicable systems and applications on a daily basis to ensure accurate data feeds to the general ledger and internal review by Finance and Insurance Operations teams.
Verifies the completeness and consistency of financial transactions to ensure internal controls, regulatory requirements, and company policies are met.
Researches and reconciles insurance revenue commissions and premium payment adjustments across applicable systems and applications to ensure financial accuracy and quality standards.
Provides first-level responses to email, mail, and phone inquiries from Finance, Insurance Operations, and Compliance teams, as well as external partners such as insurance carriers and general agents, ensuring timely and professional service.
Maintains departmental procedures to ensure documentation remains current and accurate; recommends updates to improve efficiency.
Participates in projects or special assignments as requested.

REQUIREMENTS
Consideration may be given to candidates with a degree in lieu of direct experience.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline – Preferred
Work Experience
1 year of experience in accounting, finance, or the insurance industry – Preferred
Skills and Abilities
Basic to moderate Microsoft Excel skills, including formatting, lookups, and use of formulas and functions.
Familiarity with Microsoft Access or other relational database tools to support research and reconciliation activities.
Experience with HRIS or financial systems is a plus.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage routine deadlines.
