Adjunct Faculty, Health Economics, Accounting, and Finance Position Summary Mount Saint Mary’s University Graduate Program in Health Policy and Management is seeking a pool of qualified applicants for possible temporary part-time teaching assignments in Health Economics, Accounting, and Financing. These positions are filled on an as needed basis and are on-going recruitment. Assignments include evening courses. Position Range: $2,092.50 per unit General Responsibilities The adjunct faculty member shall be responsible for the following: teaching assigned classes under the supervision of the HPM program director; helping students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content; assessing student learning outcomes; maintaining a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in his/her regular teaching field; utilizing current technology in the performance of job duties; maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position; assisting with articulation and curriculum development and review. Work Schedule Start date: Spring 2018 3 hours, one night a week (either Tuesday or Thursday) Job Requirements: Qualifications: Successful candidates should possess an MBA or Ph.D. in economics, finance, accounting, or a closely related field. The candidate will be able to teach graduate level courses related to one or more of the following areas: application of economic concepts to health care; financing and reimbursement structures; and health care accounting. Have sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles. Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience, executive administrative experience, and excellent teaching evaluations.
