Adjunct – FY25 EKG Technician Instructor LOS ANGELES COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITIES PART-TIME POSITION ADJUNCT – FY25 EKG TECHNICIAN INSTRUCTOR APPLICATION CLOSING DATE: OPENED UNTIL FILLED. The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is the largest community college district in the United States and one of the largest in the world. The LACCD is comprised of nine colleges serving all or part of more than 40 cities in Southern California and spanning a service area of 882 square miles. POSITION: The LACCD is accepting applications for Adjunct EKG Technician Instructor positions at our colleges for the 2024 Academic School Year. The purpose of this posting is to establish a pool of qualified applicants. When a campus has an opening, the hiring location will pull applications from the pool and begin the hiring process. The LACCD is seeking dynamic, motivated, and diverse candidates for part-time faculty positions to engage and educate our students. Successful candidates will collaborate, communicate and work as professionals with students, staff, faculty, and administrators. Applicants with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse student population are strongly encouraged to apply. The final determination of part-time Instructor assignments is contingent upon enrollment, funding, and class availability. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must be certified in California as Cardiographer Technician (CCT) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or National Healthcare Association (NHA); and Must be CPR certified; and Bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience, which must be directly related to the faculty member’s teaching assignment; OR Associate’s degree and six years of professional experience, which must be directly related to the faculty member’s teaching assignment: OR Associate’s degree in nursing and six years of professional experience which must be directly related to the faculty member’s teaching assignment OR Bachelor’s degree in nursing or higher and two years of professional experience, which must be directly related to the faculty member’s teaching assignment, and A sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students Desired QUALIFICATIONS 1 year of teaching experience preferred. Comfortable with computers and technology. Highly organized and detail-oriented. Advanced student learning through exemplary instruction by following an established course outline. DUTIES: The adjunct instructor should be prepared to teach a range of courses within the EKG Technician Program, promoting engaging and inclusive educational environments that support student learning. The successful candidate will be culturally responsive in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members who span a diverse range of languages, nationalities and ethnicities, socio-economic levels, ages, identities, abilities, and educational experiences. In addition, but not limited to Assist in student learning outcomes. Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter area and effective teaching/learning strategies. Maintain appropriate standards of professionalism and conduct. Facilitate all required skill labs. Grade class assignments and exams. COMPENSATION: The salary schedule for adjunct instructors begin at $86.85 per standard hour, plus an office hour differential of $20.32 per hour for classroom assignments. Applicants with a doctoral degree are eligible for a doctoral differential.
