USC Gould School of Law seeks an Adjunct Lecturer in Law to create and teach a new Executive Education online course titled Dealmaking for Entertainment Professionals. The instructor will work with our instructional design team to develop curriculum for the online course, and then will host office hours as a way of teaching the course once it goes live for students. Our new Executive Education Program offers a series of self-paced, online courses will be produced with live virtual office hours and networking opportunities. This new instructor will create 20-30 hours of asynchronous coursework content including readings, lecture videos, and assessments. They will have access to our learning management platform for 6 months, during which time they can complete the course. After launch of the online course, the instructor will offer live office hours via Zoom once per month for6 months during the time that students have access to the class to complete it. The new Dealmaking for Entertainment Professionals course equips entertainment industry professionals with essential contract analysis and dealmaking skills needed to negotiate common film, television, streaming, and digital content agreements.Students will learn contract negotiation strategies and deal structuring techniques essential for successful entertainment transactions. USC reserves the Adjunct appointment for faculty teaching less than full-time at USC, who are employed full-time in a primary profession or career elsewhere. Adjunct faculty typically teach only one course per year but, in exceptional cases, may teach one course per semester, if approved by the dean. To ensure compliance with federal, state or local regulatory requirements as well as university policy and procedures, Adjunct Lecturers are required to complete specific training requirements as a condition of employment. Adjuncts Lecturers must complete mandated training by a required deadline. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination, in accordance with the Faculty Handbook. Trainings that are required for all faculty and staff include USCs Harassment Prevention Training at the time of hire and every two years thereafter, USCs Integrity and Accountability Code Training at the time of hire, Information Security training annually, and Workplace Violence Prevention Plan training annually.
