Description
Join our Westwood Ophthalmology Call Center team, where you will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless patient experience! We are looking for a positive, detail-oriented individual dedicated to providing excellent patient service. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Pre-registering new and returning patients via telephone
- Collecting demographic and insurance information
- Entering authorizations and referrals
- Scheduling appointments
- Maintaining logs and tracking all activities
- Communicating with faculty and office staff via email, paging system, and verbal messages
Salary Range: $26.42-37.49 HourlyQualifications
Required:
- At least six months of experience working in an ophthalmology medical practice.
- Six months of experience scheduling patient appointments in an electronic system.
- Working knowledge of ophthalmic medical terminology.
- Familiarity with current billing practices including governmental plans such as Medicare and Medicaid.
- Computer skills sufficient to communicate by email.
- Verbal and written skills in English sufficient to communicate effectively with patients, doctors and staff.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with individuals of varied backgrounds effectively, with professionalism, patience and understanding.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a systematic manner to maximize efficiency.
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism while dealing with the stressors of operating a multi-line telephone system.
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions and to complete assignments in a timely manner.
Preferred:
- One year of experience working in clinical teaching environment.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
