Position Summary Responsibilities include advising a portion of the over 1300 registered undergraduate and graduate student organizations, including underserved populations, disadvantaged communities and culture based organizations; developing and presenting leadership and skill building workshops for individual students and for organizational leadership; and responsible to time, place and manner issues on campus. Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with a diverse group of studentsand faculty/administrators, both individually and in-group settings. (Required) Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction. (Required) Analytical skills to assess programs and procedures in order to assist students in proposalpreparation for funding consideration. (Required) Ability to recognize problems and generate alternatives or offer solutions, based on existingguidelines. (Required) Prioritize skills to organize workload to accomplish established objectives. (Required) Demonstrate skill in employing fundamental counseling techniques with sensitivity sufficient toassist students in making program-related decisions. Working knowledge of student campusprograms and activities in a university setting. Knowledge of university’s concepts, policies andpractices. (Required) Ability to complete tasks under heavy workload, with constant interruptions in a fast pacedenvironment with minimal supervision. (Required) Understanding of and ability to work with the Los Angeles’ area underserved and underrepresentedcommunities. (Required) Demonstrate interest, ability, and experience in working with student groups and ability to serve asa catalyst for collaborative efforts. (Required) Demonstrate ability to provide workshops to enhance the leadership capabilities of studentpopulation. Demonstrate ability to develop theoretical models for leadership training workshops.Ability to train others in techniques of program development, management and evaluation. (Required) Demonstrate skill in program planning, implementation, administration, and evaluation withspecially targeted students. (Required) Skills in tutoring methodologies sufficient to assist students in making strategic plans about theirfuture.
