Summary of Essential Duties: Works directly with Automated Guided Vehicle System, tippers, trash compactors, cart washers, cardboard bailer, and sterilizers. Takes corrective action when encountering equipment malfunctions. Will notify AGVS Lead Technician and/or Supervisor of malfunctions. Loads AGVS carts on the appropriate tipper, removes the cart when empty and moves it to the cart washer. Ensures that trash, linen and regulated medical waste are in the correct cart prior to tipping/dumping. Makes any necessary correction to the waste stream. Monitors AGV traffic in the dock area. Clears any obstruction in the vehicle?s path. Uses emergency stop buttons when necessary. Monitors department equipment and machinery and reports defects. Reports defects in the functionality of all: AGV, Chargers, Sensors, Elevators, Compactors, Tippers, Cart washers, Sterilizers. Carts, and Computers, Radios, Joysticks, and flat beds. Other duties as assigned, such as minor repairs, working as a logistics technician, keeping workspace clean and orderly, involvement in hospital safety testing or implementation. The number of shifts will vary from week to week, depending on the needs of the department.
