Department Summary
The UCLA Division of Graduate Education (DGE) oversees policies for graduate programs, excluding Dentistry, Law, and Medicine, and is comprised of the following units: Academic and Postdoctoral Services, Fellowships and Financial Services, Diversity, Inclusion and Admissions, and Graduate and Postdoctoral Support. These units handle recruitment, admissions, financial support, policies and procedures, and student well-being primarily, while other units manage internal operational needs, such as IT, Events, Communications, Human Resources/Budget Administration, and provide Institutional Research to campus and UC constituents. All units work together to support over 12,000 students across 130 academic programs and to promote successful progress in graduate education. This comprehensive approach ensures academic excellence, student diversity and prepares students to make significant contributions worldwide.
Position Summary
The Website/Wordpress & Slate Developer will support development efforts for the DGE’s websites. Under the supervision of the DGE’s Director of Information Technology, the applications programmer will play a lead role in the development and implementation of the DGE’s website redesign, utilizing WordPress themes and the Gutenberg block editor. Additionally, this position will support the development of the DGE’s Graduate Admissions application, with the Technolutions Slate platform. Candidates without prior experience with the Technolutions Slate system are encouraged to apply; training will be provided for those candidates without existing experience with Slate.
Salary & Compensation

Qualifications
WordPress 3-5 years building complex websites with the WordPress platform, utilizing the Gutenberg bock editor. Knowledge of common WordPress plugins. Experience with integrating WordPress with Angular, React, and/or .NET based applications and WordPress templates. Experience building sites for mobile devices and platforms. (Required) And
Website Development 3-5 years experience building websites utilizing HTML, CSS, PHP, and MySQL. Experience with search engine optimization. Knowledge of Apache open-source products/applications and experience implementing them for complex websites. Experience with web accessibility standards and tools (e.g. WCAG 2.0, SiteImprove) (Required) And
Collaboration & Communication 3-5 years working collaboratively with UX designers, project managers, web developers, and subject matter experts in building complex websites. Experience working with Figma to translate designs into functional websites. Ability to communicate web development and WordPress capabilities to technical and non-technical audiences. (Required) And
Technolutions Slate Experience 3-5 years experience with the Slate Technolutions CRM and Admissions platform. Experience implementing dashboards, portals, forms, Reader workflows. Experience building queries and reports. Experience managing users, roles and permissions. Experience building and supporting CRM mailings, calendars, and campaigns using the Slate Deliver functionality (Preferred)

Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations
Bachelor’s Degree Degree from accredited 4-year institution or equivalent combination of education and work-related experiences. (Required)
