The Department of Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California is seeking outstanding applicants to fill an Assistant Professor of Research position in the Division of Medical Oncology. The position will entail the following duties: Perform research and lead research projects related to cancer immunotherapy, and specifically to develop chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-engineered T cells and other cellular therapy approaches for the treatment of solid tumors, as well as to interrogate the tumor microenvironment for identification/validation of rational combination therapies. The PhD candidate should have experience in the fields of immunology and cancer biology with a strong track record.This position will interact and collaborate with a team of researchers with similar interests in developing cell-based therapies in a translational research environment. Summarize research results and prepare manuscripts for publication and organize results that will be used as preliminary data for NIH and other type grant applications. Contribute to lab administrative responsibilities. Supervise and mentor postdocs, graduate and undergraduate students, and other trainees in lab setting for cell culture, animal experiments and other laboratory processes. Work with faculty supervisor and head principal investigator to draft and submit grant proposals to federal agencies. Successful candidates will have strong research skills and interest in immune-biology and cancer research. We offer a highly competitive salary package with excellent benefits. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications. The annual base salary range for this position is $100,000-$130,000.
