The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) and Childrens Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) in the Department of Pediatrics in the Division of Division of General Pediatrics, USC University Center of Excellence in Developmental Disabilities are actively seeking a full-time faculty member for the position of Assistant Professor of Research Pediatrics. The USC UCEDD is in the Division of General Pediatrics as part of the Department of Pediatrics at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California and a nationally recognized leader in developing and implementing quality services for infants, children, youth and adults with, or at risk for, behavioral, developmental, physical, and/or special health care needs and their families. We provide services that are sensitive to the needs, values and beliefs of not only the individual, but also the entire family. We provide clinical services, interdisciplinary training programs, and also conduct and collaborate in research and policy projects to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities, develop more responsive systems of care, and increase access for children with special health care needs. Originally funded in 1966, the USC UCEDD is among the largest of the 67 UCEDDs in the nation, authorized under the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act. The successful candidate for this position will have demonstrated research excellence, as evidenced through their publication and grant record. The position requires a Ph.D. in an interdisciplinary field of study that can be applied to disabilities or other health related area, in addition to at least 5 years of experience. The positions require outstanding analytical skills, strong written and oral communication skills, significant knowledge of a specialized area of research, experience working on externally funded grants, attracting external funding to be self-supporting, the ability to lead projects and proposals and work as a member of multi-disciplinary teams, and a commitment to affecting change through empirical research. The annual base salary range for this position is $81,811 -$235,856.
