The Department of Environmental Health Sciences at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health invites applicants for an Assistant Project Scientist position specializing in advanced environmental toxicology and exposure assessment, with a focus on airborne particles. The position includes 12 months of grant-supported salary, with an anticipated start date as early as February 1, 2026.
Applicants should have a PhD, MD, or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant field to conduct advanced research on the health effects of diverse aerosol exposures. Two years of postdoctoral experience is desirable. Candidate will be expected to conduct advanced toxicology laboratory experiments and field assessments. Applicants should demonstrate a strong track record of scholarly productivity, evidenced by publications and successful project management. The successful candidate will be proficient in working with large, diverse, interdisciplinary research teams. Additionally, the position requires managing several complex research projects independently with minimal supervision. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are therefore essential assets for this position.

According to UC and FSPH standards, the FSPH fully covered 12 month salary will be composed of a component, ranging between $76,700 – $97,600.
