Department Summary UCLA Mail, Document & Document Services (MDDS), a division of UCLA Business and Finance Solutions, is a premier on-campus service center offering comprehensive solutions for document services, digital scanning, mail, messenger, shipping/receiving, and compressed gas cylinder services. With a dedicated team of 60 onsite employees, MDDS supports the University of California?s mission of teaching, research, and public service by delivering high-quality, cost-effective services. Business & Finance Solutions (BFS), a division of UCLA under the Office of the Vice Chancellor & Chief Financial Officer, provides innovative campus wide solutions to complex financial and business matters, maximizing value to the University community. BFS promotes a collaborative opportunity for campus to enhance revenue opportunities, manage campus risk, facilitate financial payment solutions for campus operations and students, act as an internal tax advisor to campus, provide financial reporting for UCLA, travel services, purchasing and procurement of goods and services and provides payroll analytics and support.BFS encompasses the following departments with approximately 400 employees: Financial Management & Reporting, Purchasing and Procurement, Tax Services, UC Travel Center, Treasury, Costing Policy and Sales & Service, Payroll Partner, Student Financial Services, Accounts Payable, Mail, Document & Distribution Services, Insurance & Risk Management, and Operations. As the official printer of UCLA, the Associate Director of Document Services and Direct Mail oversees the department’s mission to deliver cost-effective and efficient document management solutions and print production. This role includes technical oversight of Document Services and Direct Mail services, with a focus on digital workflows and automation technologies. The Associate Director manages projects involving financial analysis, equipment recommendation and acquisition, software implementation, quality control, and customer acceptance. Strategic leadership and an empowering supervision style are essential. The Associate Director leverages emerging technologies and process automation to meet or exceed customer expectations, ensuring best-in-class production and innovative, responsive customer service. Qualifications 10+ years Work related experience to include technology systems, strategic planning, budgeting, assessing resources, project management, financial analysis, and personnel development. (Preferred) Advanced knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques; human resources and risk management planning; accounting and payroll. (Required) Technical competency to design, select, implement, and manage technology solution. (Required) Knowledge of supervision and management methods, procedures, and practices. (Required) Advanced organizational and customer service skills to effectively manage multiple priorities. (Required) Demonstrated skills in employee supervision and HR administration. (Required) Knowledge of records management, documentation, and retention policies. (Required) Business computing and writing skills sufficient for presentation to University executives.
