Position Summary
The UCLA Anderson Master of Science in Business Program (MSBA) Program is the #1 MSBA program in the world. MSBA is Anderson’s fastest, highest-ranked graduate program, and a vital component of the school’s mission of educating business leaders. Under the general supervision of the Executive Director, the Associate Director, Marketing and Operations Manager assumes the following primary responsibilities for the Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) Program: (1) Work with the Executive Director to provide high-quality results in Finance and operations support. (2) Serve as primary management contact for the Finance, marketing, and operations aspects of the MSBA program. (3) Lead design, creation and maintenance of program website, marketing strategy and social media websites and responsible for consistency of messaging/branding across a wide diversity of platforms in coordination with internal and external marketing. (4) Fostering collegial relationships with MSBA recruiters, applicants, students, faculty, administrators, employers, and external partners and vendors. (5) Serves as a member of the Admissions Committee, recruiting, interviewing 25 candidates and yielding 120+ students per year. (5) This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a high level of computer competency in the use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint (bonus: graphic design, Salesforce). (6) This position requires external client management skills, business development, or professional sales experience. The Associate Director, Marketing and Operations Manager works independently and as a fully participating management team member to deliver a wide range of services to students, faculty and senior management. The Associate Director, Marketing and Operations Manager is expected to carry out responsibilities independently and work closely with the Executive Director and MSBA Team. Reports directly to MSBA Associate Director.
Salary & Compensation
*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications
Three or more years of student affairs and operations experience in a university setting. (Required)
Experience with selective admissions. (Required)
Knowledge of Business Analytics job markets. (Required)
Ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers to maintain costs and ensure delivery of quality products and services. (Required)
Ability to speak effectively before both large and small groups of people to recruit students. (Required)
Strong leadership and supervisory skills to train, delegate, and monitor work assignments of student staff and/or temporary staff. (Required)
Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction and supervision. (Required)
Working knowledge of purchasing practices including determination of needs, selection of items, and reconciliation. (Required)
Computer skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office with emphasis in word (creation of forms & tables, signs, labels) and excel (formulas, database function, spreadsheets, data sorts, mail merges, etc.). Experience with html web site design and maintenance; ability to use Adobe software. (Required)
Skill in communicating clearly and diplomatically to interact effectively with all Anderson, UCLA and outside constituents using proper English grammar. (Required)
Ability to lead teams and to be a team member to manage, collaborate, and execute small and large-scale projects and events. (Required)
Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with corporate executives, professional students, faculty, administrators and people of various socio-economic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other administrators, faculty, students, and vendors. (Required)
Advanced knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques; human resources and risk management planning; accounting and finance. (Required)
Strong writing and design skills and proficiency in utilizing social media platforms, such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. (Required)
Ability to travel domestically and internationally, and to work evenings and weekends. Knowledge in the application of technology to improve organizational effectiveness, enhance productivity, specifically with CRM system (Salesforce). (Required)
Working knowledge of University policies and procedures such as accounting, travel, purchasing, to coordinate and expedite tasks with associated central offices. (Required)
Skills in program and time management, including ability to manage multiple tasks, to determine the importance of tasks and to complete tasks quickly and on time. (Required)
Excellent writing skills in preparing correspondence, reports and publications. (Required)
Exceptional and proactive organization skills to organize material, information, and people systematically to optimize efficiency and minimize duplication of effort. (Required)
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and documents. (Required)
Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations
Bachelor’s Degree Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of professional experience and education. (Required)
