Position Summary

The Associate Director of Compliance reports directly to the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance. Primary responsibilities include monitoring compliance with NCAA, Conference and UCLA rules and regulations; researching NCAA rules, case precedent and interpretations; evaluating initial eligibility, assist with monitoring recruitment database, providing rules education; administration of playing and practice seasons; time balance education; administrative and clerical support and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 year working experience with NCAA Compliance at Division I intercollegiate athletics level strongly preferred. (Preferred)
  • Experience working with TeamWorks and Compliance Assistant preferred. (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated eagerness to learn on the job and work hard to excel in the position. Candidates should have experience conducting research, possess superior critical thinking skills, and demonstrate strong organizational abilities. (Required)
  • Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations preferred. (Preferred)
  • Ability to perform duties with a great degree of accuracy, meet deadlines, work effectively under conditions of frequent interruptions and fluctuating workload. (Required)
  • Analytical skill to evaluate information, identify and resolve problems. (Required)
  • Ability to work effectively in teams and independently required. (Required)
  • Ability to attend competitions and events at night and on weekends, as necessary, required. (Required)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required. (Required)
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with coaches, students, other staff members and campus administrators. (Required)

  • Bachelor’s Degree Bachelor?s Degree or equivalent work experience and training required. (Required)
  • Special Conditions for Employment

  • Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
  • Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.
  • CANRA: The position is designated as a mandatory reporter under CANRA . The employee must sign the “Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Child Abuse”.
  • 10% Travel for position duties and tasks as needed.
