AY 25-26 Part-time Lecturer in Public Policy (Non-Senate): Lecturer in Introductory GIS University of California Los Angeles Requisition Number: JPF10341 The UCLA Department of Public Policy is receiving applications until filled for part-time lectureships (Non-Senate). We are looking for experienced candidates to fill a part-time position teaching an introductory Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to Masters of Public Policy students, preferably in the ten-week Fall quarter of 2025 (late September-late Dec). The course should introduce techniques for mapping, manipulating, merging, and analyzing spatial data using ArcGIS (or QGIS). Responsibilities will include lecturing, conducting regularly scheduled office hours, and the writing and grading of exams or other assigned work. Ability to work cooperatively with other faculty and Department staff is essential. Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Geography, Graphic Information Science, Urban Planning, or related field is preferred, with evidence of specialization in Geographic Information Systems/Science. The candidate should have experience teaching ArcGIS (or QGIS). See Table 15 Unit 18 Faculty (Pre-Six Year Lecturers) for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is at an annual salary range $70,295 to $74,877, which will then be prorated due to teaching workload based on appointment percentage.
