A warehouse fulfillment/distribution manager oversees all aspects of the order fulfillment process within a warehouse, including receiving incoming inventory, managing stock levels, picking and packing orders, and ensuring timely and accurate shipping to customers, while optimizing operational efficiency and maintaining compliance with company policies.
Key responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management:
  • Monitor inventory levels and stock rotation to prevent stock outs and overstocking.
  • Manage receiving processes, verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders and identifying discrepancies.
  • Implement strategies to optimize warehouse space utilization.
  • Order Fulfillment:
  • Oversee order picking and packing operations, ensuring accuracy and timely fulfillment.
  • Manage order processing systems to efficiently route orders through the warehouse.
  • Monitor shipping deadlines and coordinate with carriers for timely delivery.

Logistics Coordination:
Managing inbound and outbound shipments, coordinating transportation logistics with carriers, and optimizing delivery routes.

  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead and motivate a team of warehouse associates, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities based on workload and skill sets.
  • Foster a culture of safety and quality within the warehouse.
  • Operational Efficiency:
  • Supervising warehouse staff, assigning tasks, ensuring proper storage practices, and optimizing warehouse space utilization.
  • Analyze warehouse performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement process improvements to optimize productivity and reduce costs.
  • Monitor equipment usage and maintenance schedules.
  • Compliance and Quality Control:
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and industry regulations regarding inventory management, shipping, and safety.
  • Monitor quality control procedures to minimize errors and damage to products.

Required Skills:

  • Leadership and Management:

Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced environment.

  • Logistics and Operations:

Understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management principles, and order fulfillment processes.
• Analytical Skills:
Ability to analyze data to identify trends, optimize processes, and make informed decisions.
• Technology Proficiency:
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
• Communication Skills:
Effective communication with cross-functional teams including sales, customer service, and shipping carriers.
