Must be proficient with MS Office, QuickBooks
Coordinate and schedule the dispatch of drivers, vehicles, and shipments to ensure timely deliveries.
Monitor real-time location and status of drivers and fleet using GPS tracking systems.
Communicate with drivers to provide route updates, delivery instructions, and issue resolutions.
Maintain accurate records of dispatch logs, delivery times, and driver performance.
Respond to customer inquiries and provide updates on shipment statuses.
Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to optimize delivery routes and reduce transit delays.
Address and resolve transportation issues, including delays, breakdowns, and traffic disruptions.
Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, company policies, and safety protocols.
Utilize dispatch software and transportation management systems (TMS) for tracking and scheduling.
Prepare reports on fleet efficiency, fuel usage, and on-time performance for management review.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in logistics or a related field preferred.
Experience: Prior experience in transportation, logistics, or dispatching preferred.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with drivers, customers, and teams.
Multi-Tasking: Ability to handle multiple shipments, drivers, and urgent requests simultaneously.
Technology Skills: Proficiency in dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office.
