Job Title Business Control Officer, Trust and Agency Services

Corporate Title Vice President

Location Santa Ana, CA

Overview

The Business Control team works closely with the Trust & Agency Services (TAS) Business and partners to coordinate new initiatives and provide a Governance framework against which the Business operates on an ongoing basis. As the Business Control Officer, you will support the maintenance and implementation of the risk management framework driving adoption of operating control ownership by the Business stakeholders.

TAS Business Control Unit partner with key 2nd Line of Defense teams and supporting functions globally to ensure effective implementation of the risk management framework. You will provide the necessary leadership for the TAS to identify, monitor, and manage key non-financial risks facing the Business facilitating delivery of TAS’ strategic priorities.

What You’ll Do

  • Contribute to the development of risk management framework working closely with the Global Head of Business Control
  • Provide independent challenge to the Business Management to protect against adverse non-financial risks
  • Contribute the Divisional Control Office global agenda projects and initiatives to continue evolve the non-financial risk practice across Deutsche Bank
  • Partner with the operations team on projects, client issues and support monthly update reporting and participate at meetings between the groups

How You’ll Lead

  • Responsible for identifying control gaps between the Business and Operations, work with the relevant stakeholders to close gaps and enhance the processes as required activities

Skills You’ll Need

  • Significant experience in non-financial risk management, or related roles, in financial services with audit experience a plus
  • Ability to influence key stakeholders and advise on potential risk reduction initiatives
  • Strong leadership skills to effectively manage key priorities and clearly articulate where dependency or roadblocks exist
  • Proactively engage with key stakeholder to drive execution of short- and long-term engagements (self-starter)
  • Good knowledge of securities industry and trust & agency products scope

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (able to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization)

Expectations

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Santa Ana office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in California is $125,000 to $203,000.Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of renumeration.
