AppleOne is proud to present:
We are committed to delivering cutting-edge thermal management and cooling solutions that enable the next generation of electric vehicles and power-electronics platforms. Our team is driven by innovation, technical excellence, and building long-term partnerships with OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and key players across the EV ecosystem.

We’re now looking to expand our footprint — and we need a seasoned Business Development Manager with deep automotive industry experience to lead growth in the Detroit / Great Lakes territory and beyond.

What You’ll Do

Prospect and qualify new opportunities with OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and EV ecosystem partners (battery-pack makers, inverter / e-axle / charging system vendors, thermal/ cooling solution vendors, etc.).

Meet customers on-site — plants, labs, headquarters — to present our capabilities, gather requirements, and align next steps.

Build long-term relationships via calls, email, referrals, networking, and by attending key industry events.

Translate customer requirements into proposals, quotes, and sample/evaluation plans; manage RFIs/RFQs end-to-end.

Drive design-ins from concept to production launch. Support DV/PV, validation/qualification, and PPAP (or equivalent) processes as required.

Coordinate daily with Operations and Manufacturing teams (especially in Asia) on builds, schedules, and escalations.

Track purchase orders, shipments, and any issues; work cross-functionally with internal teams to resolve problems quickly.

Maintain CRM meticulously — keep pipeline up-to-date, deliver forecast and account-status reports on schedule.

Follow up after delivery to confirm performance and customer satisfaction; ensure action items are closed out.

Provide first-line technical/commercial support; escalate deeper technical or engineering questions to our Engineering / FAE teams when needed.

Monitor customer roadmaps, competitor activity, and market trends. Use insights to adjust targeting, messaging, and region strategy.

Provide product and pricing feedback to influence roadmap decisions and help minimize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for customers.

Build and execute a territory business plan for Detroit / Great Lakes — including developing referral networks and channel partners.

What You Bring (Minimum Requirements)

5+ years of B2B business development / sales experience in the automotive industry — ideally with OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers, and especially in EV/thermal, power-electronics, or ADAS/compute.

Based in / around Detroit metro — must be able to travel regularly to customer sites (plants, labs, HQs).

Established working relationships with engineering, program-management, and sourcing functions at OEMs and/or Tier-1s.

Hands-on experience with the automotive development cycle: RFQ/RFI, sourcing gates, DV/PV, PPAP/APQP, change control, SOP launches, etc.

Strong pipeline discipline — excellent CRM hygiene, forecasting, follow-through, and timely reporting.

Comfortable working across time zones (especially coordinating with Asia) and managing communication accordingly.

Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Business (with strong technical aptitude); or equivalent relevant experience.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills — able to speak credibly with technical and commercial stakeholders.
