This position is expected to perform at a highly efficient level and be able to work under minimum supervision. The CAD Technician II will utilize Computer Aided Design s oftware and hardware to provide support for sales designs, projects , update current jobs and projects, and create production in both electronic and hardcopy forms. The technician will p roduce d rawings from project documents, functional markups, conceptual sketches, or verbal d escriptions and specifications.
Responsibilities as CAD Technician II:
- Review engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
- Collaborate with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs.
- Transform initial rough product designs into working documents using computer-aided design (CAD) .
- Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.
- Work independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High School D iploma or equivalent certificate is required .
- Two Year Associate Degree preferred .
- 3 to 5-year CAD experience; knowledge in low-voltage systems pertaining to security and life safety systems is preferred .
- Ability to work in all AutoCAD versions and be able to quickly adapt to ne w CAD standards and procedures .
- A strong background in customer service preferred .
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel required .
- Able to create and maintain accurate drawings and documents in a timely manner and read blue prints, drawing and specifications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple assignments .
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal .
- Strong team player .
- Must be able to keep track of time worked on projects and apply time towards each project worked to maintain utilization
- Coordinate filing, storage and retrieval of both manual and electronic drawings
- Support and operate associated plotters and printers
