Department Summary Parker Career Management Center (“Parker”) at UCLA Anderson partners with the school?s approximately 600+ Full-time MBA (FTMBA) students in their career development and job search process. The Parker team consists of career advisors, employer relations and operations staff members and works together to provide wholistic and foundational career advising and job search guidance as well as facilitate recruiting opportunities for students to connect with a range of employers across a variety of MBA-relevant industries and functions. Position Summary Under the general supervision of the Director of MBA Career Advising and as a member of the Parker Career Management Center (Parker), the Career Advisor Generalist serves the career development and job search needs of UCLA Anderson’s Full-Time MBA (FTMBA) students (approximately 600 students). Parker Career Advisors provide general and foundational career advising and guidance to all FTMBA students, and this Generalist role will have the versatility to advise students across multiple MBA-relevant industries and functions. This advisor will also contribute to developing and implementing Parker’s comprehensive career services and programs, including: One-on-one career advising A two-quarter career course The Anderson Career Teams (ACT) peer coaching program Job search skills workshops and career development events Employer engagement and recruiting programs. The Career Advisor Generalist works closely with MBA students to provide wholistic and transformational career perspectives, while supporting their short and long-term career development and goals across a wide range of industries and functions. Work Schedule: The position follows a hybrid work schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote). Additional days and extended hours may be required during peak seasons. A valid California Driver’s license and insurance are necessary. Benefits: This exempt position offers a base salary range of $105,000-$115,000 per year plus benefits available to full-time employees of UCLA. Qualifications General knowledge and understanding of MBA-level career paths, employment markets and industries, and strong interest in business and knowledge of current business trends. (Required) Strong interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated relationship-building skills to effectively engage with students, alumni, internal and corporate stakeholders. (Required) Knowledge and demonstrated experience in the career services area, preferably with MBA/graduate business students. Experience in higher education administration preferred. (Preferred) Ability to empathize with, advise and build relationships with graduate business students seeking to change careers. (Required) Strategic thinking and ability to analyze trends in both graduate business education and business environment to inform advising, program development, and employer outreach. (Required) Experience designing and delivering career workshops or training programs. Demonstrated ability to present to large and small audiences. (Required) Organizational and project management skills to oversee career programs and student engagement initiatives. (Required) Strong team orientation and demonstrated ability to be flexible. Growth-mindset and openness to receive feedback for continuous improvement. (Required) Experience working in a demanding work environment with equally demanding constituents. Ability to manage and lead multiple complex projects simultaneously. (Required) Flexibility and willingness to occasionally work evenings and weekends and travel out of town for conferences and corporate outreach visits.
