Description

As a Central Service Technician, you will perform duties relevant to the distribution of medical supplies and equipment as assigned within facilities at UCLA Health and serve as a liaison to ensure that the assigned clinical departments’ supply needs are met. This position may work closely with the Surgery Department, OR, and SPD in Santa Monica.

Responsibilities include:

  • Place orders to replenish inventory supply levels; assess inventory to adjust par levels to accommodate changing demand
  • Receive and transport supplies to their destination locations; verify the products received are accurate
  • Monitor the expiration dates of supplies
  • If assigned to the OR, pick supplies for scheduled cases
  • Conduct daily equipment rounds including cleaning and sanitizing equipment
  • Enter all departmental charges in software systems on a daily basis
  • Assist in the management of back-ordered items
  • Assist clinical staff with researching patient supplies used for charge posting reconciliations
  • Write and email out daily summaries of day activities

 
Salary Range: $26.37-34.83 HourlyQualifications

Required:

  • Knowledge of basic computer skills to perform data entry to obtain information from Hospital Mainframe and Lawson EMPAC Systems. 
  • Able to push and pull up to 100 pounds, and lift up to 50 pounds. 
  • Knowledge of materials management including information regarding proper sterilization techniques, product information, equipment operation etc. 
  • Skilled in English language in both written and verbal format. 
  • Ability to strictly obeys healthcare regulations for infection control. 
  • Demonstrates a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. 
  • Excellent customer service skills; consistently maintains good guest relations and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in workload and schedule. 
  • Ability to attend all workshops and classes as requested.
