A Snapshot of Your Day
Lead the costs, scope and schedule of repair projects in execution at the Los Angeles Service Center located in Rancho Dominguez. Publish inspection reports and prepare proposals for the repair of steam turbines, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, unloader valves, and related turbomachinery equipment. Serve as the direct point of contact for clients while repairs are ongoing at the service center. Work alongside a team of mechanics, machinists, welder, repair engineer, and other project managers to support the repair of critical turbomachinery equipment. Customers include oil refineries, chemical plants, power plants, universities, hospitals, and food processing plants.
How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Manage the costs, scope, and schedule of repair and machining projects at the Los Angeles Service Center. Build inspection reports and repair proposals for overhauling turbomachinery equipment. Review bills of materials and technical drawings to compile list of replacement parts as result of Repair Engineer directions.
  • Serve as clients’ direct point of contact at the service center. Interpret customer maintenance and repair specifications and requirements to technical personnel for maintenance, repair and overhaul of equipment.
  • Review contractual terms and conditions for service specifications. Support shop personnel for the execution of inspection and repair activities. 
  • Provide concise and descriptive work instructions to the shop floor for all repair and factory technical specifications. Prepare and deliver project documentation and progress reports for internal and external customers. Support and maintain Lean implementation projects.
  • Closely supervise ongoing job-costs to ensure close alignment to costs, scope, and schedule to realize project completions within the budgeted hours and total costs.
  • Assist with and support various Safety & Quality projects within the Service Center; Safety is very important to our Team – it is everyone’s duty to work safely, and with a Quality mentality as We Energize Society. It is imperative to promptly report any unsafe conditions and provide suggestions for continual improvement.

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering is highly preferred. Minimum of 5 years’ combined experience and proven project management performance is acceptable in lieu of degree.
For equivalency, minimum 5 years must be actively working projects in manufacturing and/or repair and overhaul within industrial environment. Project Management certification is preferred.
Experience with repairs of rotating and reciprocating equipment (ie. steam turbines, centrifugal compressors, reciprocating compressors, and unloader valves) is preferred.
Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, Outlook; and SAP and Concur. Also having the ability to interpret shop work instructions and manufacturing technical drawings is required.
Must adapt to fast-paced environment; occasional overtime may be needed to support outages.
Experience working in an organization dedicated to Health, Safety, and Quality. Strong and upbeat work ethic, pursuing excellence, and achieving high-quality standards.

This job is based in Rancho Dominguez, California. Siemens Energy offers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off and holiday pay. The base salary range for this position in Rancho Dominguez, California is $90,000.00– $120,000.00

Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications
