Your Role on the Team The University of California, Irvine is seeking qualified candidates for a Clinical Associate Radiation Oncologist position for clinic coverage. Duties will include clinical service primarily at the UCI site in Los Alamitos. The successful candidate must be board eligible/certified in Radiation Oncology, and licensed/eligible in California. Clinical responsibilities will involve all aspects of Radiation Oncology outpatient care. The Radiation Oncology Department of the University of California, Irvine is a part of the Medical Center located in Orange, California. The Department is affiliated with the NCI-designated Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. There are currently four campuses of practice: Orange, Irvine, Fountain Valley, and Los Alamitos. In Los Alamitos, there is 1 linear accelerator and 1 CT simulator. Further equipment upgrades are planned in the next two years. The Radiation Oncology Department has a Medical Physics Division, which provides clinical services to the Los Alamitos practice. In Orange, the department is equipped with 3 linear accelerators, a CT simulator, and a Varian Varisource HDR unit. In Irvine, the department is equipped with 2 linear accelerators, a CT simulator, and a Varian Varisource HDR unit. In Fountain Valley, there is 1 linear accelerator and a CT simulator. Across campuses, Aria record and verify, Eclipse treatment planning, and Epic electronic medical record systems are used. Required: Adept at creating and maintaining relationships across the referring network. Demonstrate prior experience in clinical practice productivity. Excellent interpersonal communication skills within and outside the Department. Familiar with overcoming challenges in a clinical practice. Exhibit leadership skills to lead a clinical practice. Evidence of persistence in overcoming challenges associated with practice. Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, and objectives while in compliance of all UC policies and procedures.
