What will you be doing in this role? The Part Time Clinical Laboratory Scientist I (CLS) will support laboratory operations with a focus on Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) and analyzer-to-LIS interfacing under the supervision of the POC Associate Director. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate test results, seamless instrument connectivity, and compliance with regulatory standards. The CLS will collaborate with the Beaker project team, LIS analysts, and clinical departments to validate, maintain, and optimize POCT workflows and instrument interfaces. Qualifications Requirements: Baccalaureate degree in a Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or related science. California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license or limited license appropriate for the area of responsibility. Minimum one year of clinical laboratory experience, including exposure to POCT or instrument interfacing, preferred. Experience with LIS systems (preferably Epic Beaker) and middleware such as UniPOC, Data Innovations, Telcor, or similar, preferred. Familiarity with POCT devices (e.g., i-STAT, Clinitek, etc.) and analyzers used in point of care testing, preferred. Physical Demands: Frequent sitting and standing; occasional walking and bending; occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds for distances to 10 feet. Frequent use of computer keyboards, monitors, and telephones. Responsiveness to auditory alarms and communication devices including telephones, beepers, fire alarms, mechanical failure alarms. Near visual acuity including color differentiation. Sufficient mobility to access equipment, patients, and other customers. Skills: Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Attention to detail and adherence to regulatory standards.
