Special Instructions to Applicants The budgeted hiring salary/target range for this position is from $29.17 – $32.50 hourly, with salary placement based on skills, knowledge, and experience. Position Summary The University of California, Los Angeles provides approximately 22,000 parking spaces to accommodate the needs of a growing community of 90,000 staff, faculty, students, patients and visitors. All business units within UCLA Commuter & Parking Services (C&PS) work together to develop innovative parking customer service solutions and technologies to deliver a seamless customer experience. Under the general direction of a Commuter & Parking Operations Manager, the Commuter & Parking Services Analyst performs a variety of customer service, administrative, analytical, planning, and project management duties in support of the day-to-day operations and short and long-range efforts of C&PS and the larger Events & Transportation (E&T) division. The Commuter & Parking Service Analyst for student parking operations plays a vital role within UCLA Transportation, responsible for managing all aspects of student parking. This position supports access to campus for UCLA’s 46,678 studentsincluding approximately 33,040 undergraduates and 13,638 graduate and professional students. UCLA is recognized as having the largest enrollment among all University of California campuses, and this role ensures that the parking system’s infrastructure can support the commuting needs of over 30,000 students. The position safeguards approximately $7.2 million in annual revenue, which accounts for 10% of UCLA Transportation’s total revenue. The role must manage the full lifecycle of student parking for all academic levels, overseeing the distribution of over 12,000 parking permits annually. Coordinate with the Space Utilization Manager to ensure that carpool and exemption approvals align with real-time parking capacity across 20+ campus structures and lots. Oversees carpool approvals and student exemptions ensuring they get submitted and are actively approved/denied during the entire academic year. Monitor and adjust allocations to meet demand while maintaining compliance with university policy. Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Organizational and problem-solving skills that include analyzing information, practices, policies, procedures, problems, and situations. Ability to exercise sound judgment in decision making and handling sensitive situations or issues that are complex. (Required) 2. Demonstrated skill in managing short-and long-range projects, including developing action plans and timelines, communicating goals and objectives, allocating departmental resources, producing status reports, and resolving conflicts or delays to accomplish goals. (Required) 3. Proactive attitude, with the drive to initiate projects and new processes, including skill in organizing material, information, and people in a systematic way to optimize efficiency and minimize duplication of effort. (Required) 4. Skill in negotiating mutually agreeable solutions to conflicts between individuals, groups, or organizational units. Ability to make decisions and implement solutions in line with University guidelines and departmental policies and procedures when not. (Required) 5. Ability to organize large amounts of material and information into coherent subgroups and logical sequences. (Required) 6. Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner, using appropriate tone and vocabulary, to obtain and convey information professionally to a variety of audiences with diplomacy and clarity. (Preferred) 7. Ability to quickly gain in-depth knowledge of the following: -All campus parking areas including the locations of the different types of parking, including pay stations, permit spaces and loading areas.
