Position Overview:
The Construction Product & Sales Manager’s mission is to maximize the sales, market share and overall profitability of the construction product categories in line with core markets, by partnering with the right vendors, developing and executing optimal sales campaigns, analyzing cost and providing the necessary product training to the sales teams. This key position reports to the Director of Purchasing & Marketing and has a dotted line with the Regional Managers.

Description & Duties:
- Establish sales objectives by creating a sales plan and quota for the construction product categories in support of company objectives.
- Grow product market share by partnering with sales management team to develop product sales strategies.
- Work with E-Commerce Manager on growing e-business for major product lines.
- Help set marketing strategy for focus product categories and focus end user verticals i.e. Commercial Construction, Manufacturing.
- Maintain and expand customer base (net accounts) by working with sales teams; building and maintaining rapport with key customers; identifying new customer opportunities.
- Work closely with local branch managers and territory managers on day-to-day sales objectives and goals, and stock plan.
- Set up educational workshops with experts (internal for Sales teams and external for customers).
- Meet/engage with core vendors regularly, with the participation of procurement team.
- Effectively communicate with all business units to ensure objectives are aligned.
- Ensure up-to-date status of product lines (remove obsolete lines and promote new ones).
- Recommend new product lines / new technology that can help increase market share.
- survey customer needs and trends; track competitors.
- Work closely with procurement team to negotiate better overall terms with suppliers to ensure competitiveness in marketplace and bottom line improvement, and minimize the amount of dead stock.
Qualifications:
- 5 years sales experience in the construction materials and supplies industry required
- Proficient with MS Office Suite and Sales CRM tools
- Strong communicator and relationship builder
- Team player, collaborator, mentor, partner
- Experienced with product education/training/demonstration
- Able to travel to client/customer sites, to meet with clients as needed/scheduled
