Construction Supplies Sales Manager

Position Overview:
The Construction Supplies Sales Manager will maximize sales, market share and profitability of the construction products categories through new business development & account management. This key role develops and executes optimal sales campaigns, and provides ongoing educational product training.
Construction Product Categories include Struts, Threaded Rod, Hardware & Pipe Hangers, Anchors, Fasteners.
Responsibilities:
- Establish sales objectives and sales plan for the construction product categories in support of company objectives.
- Grow market share by partnering with sales leadership to develop product sales strategies.
- Work with E-Commerce Manager on e-business for major product lines.
- Help set marketing strategy for focus product categories and focus end user verticals i.e. Commercial Construction, Manufacturing.
- Maintain and expand customer base (net accounts); build/maintain rapport with key customers; identify new customers.
- Work closely with local ops & territory managers on sales objectives and stock plan.
- Set up educational workshops with internal Sales teams and customer accounts.
- Meet with core vendors regularly, ensure up-to-date status of product lines (remove obsolete lines and promote new ones).
- Recommend new product lines / new technology that can help increase market share.
- Work closely with procurement team to negotiate better overall terms with suppliers and to minimize dead stock.
Qualifications:
- 5 years sales experience in the construction materials and supplies industry required
- Proficient with MS Office Suite and Sales CRM tools
- Strong communicator and relationship builder
- Experienced with product education/training/demonstration
- Able to travel to client/customer sites, to meet with clients as needed/scheduled
