Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Contracts Acquisition Specialist to support a critical mission for US Space Force in El Segundo, CA. The team is seeking individuals with expertise in DoD acquisition processes, program management, and acquisition support to a classified weapon system development program. Details below:

Responsibilities of the Contract Specialist:
- Advise the Program Manager and senior U.S. Space Force leadership on acquisition strategies, contracting approaches, budgeting considerations, and program execution. Prepare key acquisition documentation such as ESIS, ASP, ASD, J&A, and Source Selection Strategies.
- Support technical teams in developing statements of work (SOW), contract data requirements lists (CDRLs), incentive plans, and other deliverables for both pre-award and post-award procurement activities.
- Assist in contract negotiations, price analysis, contract administration, and termination procedures to ensure compliance and value.
- Help the contracting office draft and process contract modifications, including those related to funding adjustments, award fees, performance period extensions, and administrative changes.
- Develop and coordinate comprehensive program planning and execution documents in accordance with DoDI 5000.02 and applicable DoD, Air Force, and Space Systems Command policies.
- Draft technical evaluations and serve as a subject matter advisor during source selection processes.
- Conduct technical and programmatic reviews of contractor designs and milestone achievements to evaluate progress, identify risks and issues, and ensure alignment with mission objectives.
- Monitor contractor performance to ensure adherence to contract terms and timely delivery of required outputs.
Qualifications of the Contract Specialist:
- Bachelors degree and minimum of 15 years of related experience with the following:
- Contracting regulations and procurement procedures.
- Department of Defense Major Capability Acquisition System process.
- Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System process.
- Planning, Programing, Budget and Execution process.
- Must have an Active TS/SCI clearance
- Experience supporting National Security Space domain desired
- Professional certification such as PMP, PMI, SCRUM desired
Compensation of the Contract Specialist:
- Total compensation based on experience level – $150,000 – $200,000 **based on years of experience**
