Special Instructions to Applicants A resume, cover letter and completed application are required to be considered for this position. **Please note, this is a HYBRID role.** Position Summary Bring your accounting and audit acumen, attention to detail and ability to provide oversight of various types of accounting, control, budgeting and risk management activities to our UCLA Foundation Financial Services team as our Control & Ancillary Services Accounting. In this role, you will oversee accounting of $6 billion+ in assets including investment portfolios for endowed, unendowed, planned giving and other investment pools as well as separately held assets/insurance policies. We will look to you to manage a varied portfolio of planned giving programs, donor advised funds and other trusts as well as other foundation assets including pledges valued in excess of $550 million, accounts receivable, notes receivable, real estate and other assets. You will also manage our annual internal/external audits, define and lead implementation of new processes and ensure compliance. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications A minimum of three years of progressive accounting experience is required with a minimum of five years preferred. (Required) Demonstrated experience with booking journal entries and preparing account reconciliations. (Required) Organized and detail-oriented with a strong ability to perform duties with high degree of accuracy, working effectively under conditions of frequent interruptions, fluctuating workloads, and changing priorities. (Required) Advanced knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GASB or FASB). (Required) Ability to read and interpret legal documents in order to determine appropriate accounting treatment. (Required) Working knowledge of investment accounting. (Required) Skill in handling a high volume of financial transactions, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and timeliness with strong data management and financial analysis skills. (Required) Demonstrated skill and judgment to handle confidential and sensitive financial information with discretion; strong ability to evaluate, identify and resolve issues. (Required) Advanced computer proficiency and technical skills including accounting systems and Microsoft Office suite of applications (Excel, Word, etc.). (Required) Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to convey information to donors, staff, administrators, auditors, and development officers. Skill in writing concise, logical, grammatically correct business correspondence and financial reports. (Required) Interpersonal skills to interact effectively and diplomatically with campus administrators and external constituents; ability to establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with co-workers and other campus staff. (Required) Flexible and collaborative with a proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. (Required) Results oriented with a strong sense of urgency relating to task completion; able to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously as well as learn new tasks and grasp new concepts in a quick and efficient manner.
