About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Production Planner to lead our scheduling and planning efforts. This role is critical in balancing material availability, production capacity, and customer priorities to ensure On-Time Delivery (OTD). The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a strong background in ERP/MRP systems, and is passionate about driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the scheduling process to balance material availability, production capacity, and customer priorities, ensuring consistent On-Time Delivery (OTD).
Monitor and improve key metrics including schedule adherence, inventory optimization, lead-time reduction, and OTD.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Operations, Quality, and Warehouse teams to resolve shortages, align capacity, and mitigate schedule risks.
Proactively identify constraints related to materials, labor, or capacity and implement solutions to prevent production interruptions.
Maintain ERP/MRP accuracy by managing planning parameters such as lot sizes, lead times, and safety stocks to accurately reflect operational capabilities.
Lead and facilitate schedule review meetings with production and operations leadership to communicate risks, recovery plans, and key decisions.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to planning processes, ERP/MRP usage, and standard operating procedures to enhance efficiency and scalability.
Mentor and develop planning team members to build bench strength and prepare them for future leadership roles.
Effectively communicate schedule status, risks, and mitigation actions to leadership, aligning priorities with customer requirements and business goals.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in production or demand planning.
Strong expertise with ERP/MRP systems and solid understanding of master production scheduling.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret demand data and translate it into actionable production plans.
Proven track record of driving continuous improvement in planning processes and customer service.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive and hands-on approach.
Strong communication skills, able to interact effectively with cross-functional teams and leadership.
Energetic, go-getter attitude with a commitment to operational excellence.
