Director, BSN Programs, Nursing Department Under the direction of the Dean of Nursing, the Director is responsible for the supervision and overseeing of the TBSN program and staff. Develop and coordinate activities of the program in an effort to enhance the student advisement experience. Counsel and advise students in cooperation with Assistant program director and faculty. Act as a liaison to other University departments regarding advisement and admissions. Serve as a resource to other academic advisors across the University on relevant academic policies and procedures providing accurate and timely information. Develop and maintain relationships with academic departments to facilitate the inter-program transfer process for students. Position Annual Hiring Salary Range: $115,000 – $125,000 Hiring salary can be above the posted pay range if candidate’s qualifications are determined to be above the minimum requirements of the position description. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manages TBSN’s program admissions processes. Provides leadership related to program curriculum and evaluation. Provides faculty support and guidance related to student issues. Provides overarching student support related to academics, psychological, social and emotional needs and safety. Notifies Dean and contacts university departments as appropriate. Supervises and assumes responsibility for program operations Ongoing advisement, monitoring, and advocacy of students and program within the nursing department, university and community. Represents the BSN Program in: Providing external relations with professional organizations Attending AACN and CACN meetings 8. Maintains faculty responsibility by serving on nursing and University committee(s) 9. Maintains teaching responsibility, as per contract (minimally 1-2 courses per academic year) 10. Participates in advisement responsibility Job Requirements: Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of curriculum for the BSN degree; academic advisement process, admissions procedures, evaluation process, BRN and CCNE rules and regulations, and budget management. Abilities and Skills: Effectively organize and handle multiple tasks to meet established deadlines. Accurately identify problems and needs and develop a plan. Provide sound counsel and academic advisement to students. Communicate effectively with the students, faculty, staff, dean of nursing, university community, and the public. Collaborate with internal and external parties. Deliver presentations to large groups. Demonstrate management and leadership abilities. Collect, analyze, and accurately interpret data. Be analytical and detail-oriented. Exercise sound judgment and decision making. Education: (established by the California Board of Registered Nursing, 1425a) Master’s or higher degree from an accredited college or university, which includes course work in nursing, education, or administration. Terminal degree preferred. Experience: A minimum of one year’s experience in an administrative position with validated performance of administrative responsibilities (described in BRN regulation 1420h) A minimum of two years of experience teaching in a pre-licensure registered nursing program At least one year of continuous experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care and/or equivalent experience as determined by the Board Licenses and Certifications: Eligible for RN license in state of California Other Requirements: Background check required by policy.
