Your Role on the Team
Position Summary:
The Director is responsible for the management of programs and operations in Radiology. Maintains oversight for Diagnostic Radiology, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, MRI, CT, and Transportation. The Director ensures competency of coworkers in the Department, oversees staffing schedule to meet patient and department needs, maintains appropriate supplies, and all equipment is functioning properly. Engages in strategic planning to ensure state of the art technology; develops standards and testing procedures that meet the needs of patients and physicians; oversees quality services including quality assurance and performance improvement in all areas of responsibility; and evaluates and implements processes to maximize utilization of resources with attention to controlling costs and maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies. The Director ensures compliance with all regulating requirements, DHS, Joint Commission, Title 22, and Radioactive Materials License (RAML). The Director works collaboratively with the Medical Director and the Department Radiologists while adhering to all Hospital policies and procedures.
What It Takes to be Successful
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
- Current American Heart Association BLS Certification
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Experience working in a UC and/or union environment
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to plan strategically
- Ability to apply sound judgment in ambiguous situations and effectively manage change
- Strong organization and project management skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, as well as internal and external stakeholders at all levels across the health system
- Minimum 5 years experience in supervision/management of a large comprehensive Imaging department.
- Must be familiar with all technical aspects of Radiological Sciences (Diagnostic, CT, Nuclear Med., Ultrasound, Mammography, MRI, Vascular and Interventional Procedures)
- Must possess working knowledge of budget, billing, and basic cost accounting function, and Human Resource issues, principles, and concepts
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Ability to develop a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current CRT California Certified Radiologic Technologist License, Current Fluoroscopy,Current registration from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
