Overview
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Early Careers Program Specialist to manage the day-to-day operations of our Skills First internship and apprenticeship programs. This role focuses on attracting, developing, and supporting candidates who possess in-demand skills but may not have a traditional four-year degree. The Specialist will play a critical role in building and sustaining innovative career pathway programs that deliver skilled talent to the organization. This is a hybrid, contract role with a pay rate of $50-70/hour depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for hiring managers, internal partners, external vendors, and program participants by providing guidance, answering questions, and offering coaching and mentoring support.
Manage 6- and 12-month program experiences, including onboarding and offboarding, information sessions, networking events, and professional development activities.
Coordinate recruitment and outreach efforts to source candidates from alternative talent pathways.
Promote awareness of future talent programs internally to support participant career progression and conversion into full-time roles.
Develop, monitor, and maintain a comprehensive program dashboard to track placements, conversions, retention, participant satisfaction, and other key performance metrics.
Collect, document, and share program best practices internally and externally.
Partner with internal teams and community or corporate organizations to continuously improve program design and delivery.
Utilize technology and digital tools to streamline program operations, communications, data tracking, and reporting.
Track and update program budgets; manage relationships with vendors and external partners.
Identify talent and learning trends and recommend curriculum or program improvements aligned with evolving business needs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Human Resources, Business Administration) or equivalent relevant work experience.
Proven experience in program management, preferably within talent acquisition, workforce development, or career-focused programs.
Strong understanding of future talent development strategies and talent pipeline identification.
Demonstrated ability to design and deliver structured learning and development experiences.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Proficiency with technology and software applications used to optimize program management processes.
Familiarity with social media platforms for talent attraction and employer branding.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to inform program improvements.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Ability to influence without direct authority using data, insights, and stakeholder feedback.
Experience managing vendors and external partners.
Experience tracking and maintaining program budgets.
Preferred Qualifications (Optional)
Prior experience working with community colleges, bootcamps, workforce development organizations, or apprenticeship providers.
