Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Education Director with a strong background in construction-related continuing education, professional events, and workforce development.
This is NOT a K-12 or traditional academic education role.
This position is designed for someone who has built high-level training programs, industry conferences, certification events, and contractor-focused education outside of a traditional school environment.
Reporting to the Executive Director, this role leads the strategy, development, marketing, and execution of continuing education, safety programs, and large-scale industry events that advance the professional, technical, and leadership skills of contractor members and their employees.
Primary Responsibilities
Industry Education & Workforce Programs
Lead and grow a first-in-class continuing education program for contractors and construction professionals.
Design and oversee non-academic, industry-driven training programs, workshops, seminars, and certifications.
Partner with contractors, labor representatives, trainers, and subject-matter experts.
Event Planning & Execution
Plan, market, and execute large-scale education events, conferences, in-person training sessions, and industry meetings.
Oversee event logistics including registration platforms, venue coordination, agendas, instructors, and materials.
Manage multiple events simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
Safety, Grants & Compliance
Support and advance Safety Committee initiatives relevant to construction workplaces.
Ensure ongoing compliance and continuation of ETP State Grant funding.
Maintain program documentation and reporting requirements.
Marketing & Member Communications
Communicate education programs and events to members through newsletters, email campaigns, and website content.
Collaborate on promotion strategies to increase attendance and engagement.
Serve as a key liaison between the Association and member companies.
Who This Role Is For
? Professionals with experience in construction, trades, professional associations, workforce development, or industry education
? Candidates with event management and program administration experience
? Individuals comfortable engaging with contractors, field professionals, executives, and labor leadership
?? This role is NOT intended for candidates whose primary background is in K-12 education, academic teaching, or school administration.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required.
5+ years of experience in continuing education, professional training, or workforce development (industry or association setting).
2+ years in a management or director-level role.
2+ years using Event Management Software (e.g., Cvent, Eventbrite, RegFox).
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated experience making decisions that impact departmental operations.
Strong facilitation, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
Willingness to travel locally in early mornings and attend occasional evenings/Saturday events.
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of ETP Funding Program administration.
Experience working with construction firms, contractor associations, unions, or trade organizations.
Personal Attributes
Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
