Responsibilities:
- Complexity of Task Assignment: Work on highly complex project systems requiring innovative and original solutions, with exposure to the development lifecycle from concept to completion.
- Planning: Technical planning, estimation, tracking, and completion of projects on time and within budget.
- Scope/Impact: Ensure results are crucial to the successful completion of major projects and programs.
- Lead/Oversight Responsibilities: Provide leadership and training to younger technical staff.
- Supervision: Operate mostly independently with minimal supervision.
- Guidance: Offer guidance and support to team members.
- Initiative: Exercise initiative and judgment in work methods and interpreting goals.
- Technical Writing: Undertake substantial proposal writing sections and design review data packages.
- Peer Reviews: Actively participate in peer reviews for technical development.
- EE Designs: Lead electrical engineering designs through the full design cycle, including schematic capture, design trades, interconnections, and PCB layout. Participate in design reviews and full functional testing, support process improvements, and EE review boards.
Technical Experience:
- Familiar with and understands industry best practices.
- Develop innovative solutions to unique problems.
- Proficient with Systematic RCCA processes and generating RECA reports for customers.
- Recognized for professional abilities and technical accomplishments both within the company and the professional community.
- Craft strategic technical paths to capture significant follow-on business.
Communication/Interpersonal Skills:
- Effectively train and mentor workgroups and lead teams within the group.
- Deliver effective presentations to general audiences and write convincing proposals and reports with necessary backup material.
- Resolve divergent technical opinions within the team and influence customers effectively.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent); MS desired.
- Minimum 5+ years of digital design experience with mil-spec or space programs.
- Proficient in design capture, simulation, and debug tools, particularly OrCAD Schematic Capture and Altium Designer.
- Knowledge of industry-standard bus architectures such as VME, PCI, PCIe is highly desired.
- Familiar with Worst Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA) and Electrical Parts Stress Analysis (EPSA).
