Summary
ARB, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Superintendent for oil & gas projects in the Greater Los Angeles area. This individual would provide input and technical expertise for EPC construction projects; providing constructability reviews, electrical procurement support, and construction planning and execution oversight on both self-performed and subcontracted scopes.
Essential Functions
- Supervise, set direction for and coach all General Foremen, Field Engineers and Foremen at the project site to ensure best use of all company resources, adherence to all company policies and state and federal regulations.
- Manage all project electrical subcontractors to ensure effective use of project resources as well as industry processes.
- Negotiate all change orders and subcontract amendments with electrical subcontractors.
- Quickly familiarize yourself with scope of work and the site and collaborate with other projects to appropriately utilize and share resources.
- Handle scheduling of equipment, materials, tools and subcontractors to effectively utilize all resources and to maximize production and minimize costs
- Act as an electrical consultant to supervisory and field personnel, participate in meetings with electrical design engineers, electrical subcontractors, Owner (SME’s) and utility interconnect personnel.
- Be responsible for safe working conditions and safety procedures on the project, more particularly for specific discipline; understand and enforce company, jobsite specific, federal, and state safety regulations on site and discusses concerns with site personnel.
- Be responsible within work discipline for the utilization of best safety practices: the management of employee training for work methods, emphasis on special risks, cranes, lifting, DOT requirements, site conditions, telehandlers, JHA’s, accident injury management, electrical safety hazard, LOTO, arc flash.
- Communicate with Construction Manager to update them on project problem areas
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
- Participate in RFI development and technical accuracy.
- Support economic conditions by hiring locally, attending job fairs and attending public information meetings.
- Establish and maintain crew and equipment matrixes, comparing information back to established Work Plans and updating Operations Analysis as needed
- Complete all necessary reports in a timely and legible manner, includes Daily Reports, Quality documentation, Material Requests, time sheets.
- Perform Quality audits of all installed work.
- Provide detailed, written work plans on request with resource and material documentation to support the plan.
- May at times visit proposed project sites to support Estimating and Business Development.
- Become a project liaison with key community leaders and local landowners.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of superintendence experience managing and supervising a construction team in electrical construction
- Must have a valid driver license & an acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR)
- Ability to supervise multiple employees.
- Thorough knowledge of tools and equipment uses and limitations.
- Good communication skills to deal with owners and employees.
- Possess a solid understanding of job costing.
- Relocation to community of project site is required.
- May be required to become a qualified individual in pursuit of a company contract licensing, or journeyman or master electrician license.
- Ability to read and understand drawings and contract documents.
- Know and understand the required federal and state codes for the project
Compensation/Benefits
- Annual salary would be in the range of $140-170k commensurate with education, skills and experience
