job summary:
An Engineering Technician is needed for a multinational corporation that produces mirrors as well as a variety of construction, high-performance, and other materials in the Garden Grove, CA area. The Engineering Technician is responsible for creating and maintaining Bills of Material (BOM), routers, and cost structures to support efficient manufacturing operations, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure process accuracy and continuous improvement.

responsibilities:
- Create and maintain part numbers for materials and finished goods in the QAD item master.
- Develop individual master routers for each part number to represent a manufacturing plan.
- Create bills of material for all manufactured part numbers.
- Make make/buy decisions with input from manufacturing and purchasing teams.
- Manage the ECO (Engineering Change Order) process.
- Update pink sheets to correct manufacturing variances.
- Update molding routers for Factivity.
- Work with customer service, scheduling, quality, quote team, and manufacturing to update work orders with new information or process improvements.
Skills:
- Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Understanding of cost structure processes.
- Basic computer proficiency and solid math skills.
- strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.
- strong work ethic, attention to detail, and good attendance.
- Proficiency in QAD software.
Education and Experience:
- GED or High school diploma required.
- AA degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
