Description
Join our team as an Entry-Level Solar Installer Technician and begin your career in the rapidly growing renewable energy industry. You’ll work alongside experienced installers and electricians to help install, maintain, and support residential and commercial solar energy systems while learning the fundamentals of solar construction, electrical safety, and rooftop installation practices.
Key Responsibilities
Installation and Maintenance:
· Assist with the installation of solar panels, racking systems, and related equipment on rooftops and ground-mounted systems.
· Load, transport, and organize tools, materials, and solar equipment at job sites.
· Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and installation equipment safely.
· Support electricians and senior solar technicians during wiring, mounting, and system setup.
· Perform basic maintenance, cleanup, and inspection of solar installation areas.
· Assist with troubleshooting and system testing under supervision.
Safety and Compliance:
· Attend safety meetings and follow all OSHA and company safety procedures.
· Wear required PPE including harnesses, hard hats, gloves, and fall protection equipment.
· Maintain clean and organized job sites to ensure safe working conditions.
· Follow rooftop safety guidelines and ladder safety procedures at all times.
Documentation and Reporting:
· Track installation progress, tools, and materials used during projects.
· Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or installation challenges promptly.
· Assist with project documentation and completion checklists.
Work Environment and Expectations
This position requires outdoor physical labor in varying weather conditions and frequent rooftop work. Technicians must be comfortable working at heights, lifting heavy materials, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods. The role may involve travel to different job sites and early morning start times.
Requirements
· Must be at least 18 years old.
· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
· Ability to lift up to 80 lbs repeatedly throughout the workday.
· Comfortable working outdoors and at heights.
· Willingness to learn solar installation techniques and safety procedures.
· Must pass a drug and background check.
