Position: Facility Maintenance Manager (Commercial Experience Required)
Duration: 6 Months (Temp-to-Perm)
Hourly Rate: $42.00
Location: Miami, FL 33130

Note: Our client is looking for candidates with strong commercial or high-rise maintenance experience and a clear career progression, ideally moving from a technician role into management.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Oversees the effective execution of all maintenance requirements and processes for facility equipment for a 26-story building. Manages daily and after-hours activities of the maintenance team, oversees parts sourcing, coordinates subcontracted services, and supports various operational needs. Responsibilities include supervising technicians, prioritizing work orders, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining high service standards, and performing or overseeing repairs within a specialized building systems environment—particularly HVAC, mechanical systems, and general building maintenance.

KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise and guide a team of maintenance technicians, including task assignment, performance monitoring, and coaching.

Coordinate and prioritize work orders and maintenance activities to ensure efficient and timely completion.

Conduct regular facility inspections to identify and resolve maintenance needs.

Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment life and reduce downtime.

Perform and oversee repairs related to HVAC systems, pumps, heat exchangers, electrical systems, fire alarm systems, water systems, and building automation systems.

Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and promote a strong safety culture.

Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, equipment repairs, and inventory.

Coordinate and schedule maintenance and repair activities with external service providers.

Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging technologies to improve operations.

Provide training and guidance to less experienced technicians.

Plan and lay out materials required for maintenance and repair work.

Work from schematics, layouts, drawings, or verbal instructions, using appropriate tools and equipment.

Request new supplies and equipment as needed.

Perform all duties in accordance with established safety procedures.

Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.

Comply with company policies, procedures, and operational standards.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Two-year technical degree or five years of relevant supervisory experience or completion of an apprenticeship program.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or business (preferred).

Proven experience in facilities operations or maintenance.

Working knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.

Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing teams.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Experience supporting mission-critical environments.

Knowledge of OSHA regulations.

Familiarity with building management systems (BMS).

Ability to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and during emergencies.

Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and lifts.

EPA Refrigeration Certification (preferred).
